“We feel closely connected to the Löwenherz children’s hospice. Several of us have been there together to help. Last time we tidied up the bushes, beds and paths in the garden. It is a good feeling to know that this work matters.”

Involvement in the region unites people

Although a fat cheque can sometimes be a great help, by social responsibility we mean more than that. We are part of the regional society and are interested in what affects people in our region. With targeted activities we want to help, provide impetus and simply be involved.

Involvement in the Climate Fund

saturn petcare is involved in the regional Climate Fund “climate company people nature”. The idea behind this fund won us over easily: companies can offset their unavoidable CO2 emissions through compensation payments into a trust fund. Social and cultural projects are then subsidised locally with the help of the proceeds. In this way, since 2010 saturn petcare has compensated for its CO2 emissions in the field of mobility – i.e. the fleet of vehicles, business trips and the car journeys of staff to the workplace.

Day of Caring at "Löwenherz"

Since 2007 a permanent partnership has linked us with the “Löwenherz” children’s hospice in Syke. Over the course of time our staff have literally taken this project to their hearts. Several times a year we are active on site so that major jobs in the house and garden are quickly completed.

Future Day for girls and boys

An exciting time is had by all on Future Day. The children can experiment hands-on and learn something new: for example that you can not only produce dog food with steam tunnel technology but also fried eggs – with a bit of luck even square ones! Or that you can make great chain and key rings with the tools in the mechanical maintenance department.

Subsidising individual activities

Using economic successes to promote culture pays off – for a lot of people. This is why we have repeatedly provided targeted support for regional sports facilities, cultural institutions and school projects with donations in the last few years.
