“For us, quality is the highest precept. In my view good quality is not achieved until the customer is really satisfied. My duties also include carrying out quality projects, for example with the Six Sigma method. In this way I can analyse existing processes and systems and continuously improve them."

Chilau C., Quality Management

Our quality management – simply without compromise

The quality must be right so that a product can hold its own in the long term on the market. It is repeatedly confirmed that the quality of our products is right: by evaluations from independent consumer associations, investigations by “Stiftung Warentest”, first-hand reports from dog and cat breeders and lots of enthusiastic letters from customers.

Our quality assurance measures monitor the whole process of production. Among other things, a special magnifying glass is used to carry out random checks on the sealed seams of our stand-up pouches for the smallest sealing faults.

Quality assurance for the whole supply chain

The customer is clearly the focus of our quality work. Their wishes and requirements are central to our strategic quality management. It includes not only the product and the production but all areas of the company as well.

An added advantage is that we are part of heristo – the quality group, a holding that unites various companies in the food sector under one umbrella. We thus work consistently in accordance with the heristo standard – a centrally controlled quality and information system. This model concept, which also incorporates effective risk management, has set standards in Germany. It aims quite clearly at the avoidance of faults and integrates external partners into the supply chain – raw material and material suppliers as well as service companies.

In 1994 our business was the first in the area of pet food to be certified to the requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001 and, in 1996, in combination with DIN EN ISO 14001. Since 2003 our company has regularly been checked in accordance with the IFS (International Food Standard) specifications applicable to the safety of human food. Apart from that, certification according to the specifications of the BRC (British Retail Consortium) has been carried out regularly since 2006.

Hazard prevention and risk management

Our processes are of course also checked on the basis of the internationally recognised HACCP concept (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point). In addition there are regular audits – together with customers or on our suppliers’ premises.

Furthermore our risk management with a cross-group early warning system enables a rapid exchange of information and short response times, which can be of decisive importance in a crisis situation – both for our trade customers and also for the consumer.
